Omotor Fit for Toyota Tundra Backup Camera Reviews

  1. Ok so I have an 08 limited cm and it has the jbl arrangement with manufacturing plant backup cam mounted in the tailgate handle displaying in the head unit. It is very dated quality, is near useless in depression light, and lacks backup lines that would assist out a lot on a huge truck. I went to the local audio store to talk about a head unit upgrade and nearly backup cam upgrade options. They said at that place isn't an upgrade option that tin supervene upon the stock 1 and I would accept to mountain another one below leaving me with ii cams, 1 of which would be non operational. Does anyone know of something I can employ to directly replace and upgrade the stock cam and if non what are your suggested backup cams to upgrade to?

I spliced into the harness just under the roof panel, where they mount the screen. I take heard there is a signal just backside the upper glove box that is closer, but the roof panel is obvious. I am trying to find the schematic, maybe someone else will have information technology readily available earlier I can notice information technology.
  3. I was really wanting a replacement that I could remove the bodily camera from the tailgate and splice at that place.

This is the i I installed into my 2007 CM. Granted, I didn't accept one to begin with and now have an after marketplace radio, but it's quality is swell and the backup lines are right where my tires are.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DCRS89M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. Yeah that looks similar the stock i, I'll bet the fill-in lines are coming from the radio itself. How is information technology at night?

I have used the masters tailgaters camera latch and information technology worked great besides. This was with an aftermarket HU install.

I believe at that place may be a voltage supply difference 12 volts vs. 24 volts (or vice versa), stock vs. aftermarket. Brand sure whatever new camera is the same voltage requirement every bit existing one.

The lines are in both the camera and the aftermarket head unit of measurement. On the tailgate at that place's a wire you lot can cutting that will disable the lines then if you want to apply the ones on the head unit you can. I think someone said that the stock camera isn't 12 volts so you may have to become ability for the aftermarket camera from somewhere else. What I did is tap into the contrary lite so the camera would only come on when the contrary lights came on. Since I didn't have a camera I ran both the wire for the photographic camera and the wire from the hot side of the opposite light dorsum to my Kenwood caput unit so it would know when I was in reverse. There's several different places in the cab yous can also get "reverse" ability from.

If the opposite monitor is in the manufacturing plant head unit of measurement I would use the manufacturing plant wires. But if it's in the overhead console I would just run new wires merely taking advantage of the factory plug at the tailgate so if I ever wanted to remove it I could. Nether the rear seats on the double cab are a couple prophylactic plugs. I fabricated a small hole in i of them to go the wires inside of the cab without drilling steel. I would think the CM would as well have these.

Am installing this on one my daughter's 4Runner this weekend. The mirror camera doesn't cut it. Updated he received to a Kenwood, had the camera lines that turn (y'all can turn them on or off)

They accept a lot of options.

  10. I've read a few reviews that say the upgraded head units improve the quality of the stock camera and the head unit of measurement volition add the fill-in lines so I think I will but add together a front camera and just run across how the stock ane looks for at present.

It seems more heavy duty and durable than the offset backup photographic camera I bought for $20

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074KZSVD6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. This camera was fantastic. I'm kicking myself for not saving the $lxxx bucks now!

thats the one i got. works well cause you lot can point it to where it needs to be pointed, but holy hell it was the most difficult to indicate camera cause there is no mark on it to betoken what goes upwards, and its hard to rotate the inner camera without making information technology leave of focus. 2nd thing i really dont like is the guidelines. they deceit be turned off. fine if they happen to be in the right spot, but that volition never exist the example. and putting them up high on the tailgate not quite centered, they arent fifty-fifty close. so now i have lines on my aftermarket radio that i have adjusted for the exact use, but ive got these really distracting lines that are so far off its silly. looks kind of garbage having to bargain with 2 sets of lines.

discussion to the wise for folk on here... everyone wires their cam to be powered past the reverse point. the opposite indicate is really supposed to just trigger the head unit to switch to the camera. the cam should be powered by the trucks acc wire. that way you can switch to the camera manually in the head unit. i dont demand that often, simply its nice to double check that my trailer bondage are notwithstanding connected. or that i did, in fact, shut the tailgate, lol.

  18. @BlueCrushSC16 can yous link information technology?
